Art Medals by Geri Jimenez Gould

Biography

Geri Jimenez Gould is a native Californian, of Mexican American and Native American (Tongva Nation, also known as the Gabrielino Band of Mission Indians) descent, with family roots dating back to before the Mission period. Born in 1943, Geri majored in Theater and Acting at California State University at Los Angeles, with Masters work in Fine Arts, and was employed as a flight attendant. She began painting in traditional oils at an early age, taking up sculpture, one of the few artists working today in this difficult genre.

Geri's husband, Bill, is a self-employed professional modelmaker, who also creates handcrafted musical instruments and Native American flutes. Geri and Bill met in college, when he was stage managing a play in which Geri had an acting role. They were married in 1969, and started their own business in 1973. They moved to Santa Fe, New Mexico in 1987, returning to Southern California in 1997.
