Dorpat Telescope
1/12th Scale Model created for exhibition in the Centennial Celebration
of the National Geographic Society, at Explorer's Hall, Washington,
DC. The Dorpat Telescope is considered one of the world's finest
scientific instruments. The original, still in existence, was
built in 1823 by Joseph von Fraunhofer, known as "the father
of modern physics. Model, 15" tall, is available for purchase

by the Kansas City Miniatures Museum. Exact replica of the famous
printing press, circa 1763, reputed to have been used by Benjamin
Franklin, now in the collection of the Smithsonian Institution. |

Steam Launch Engine
An example of a computer generated
model, created in SolidWorks™ from original drawings in
an 1878 book on Drafting Technique. It is likely that this 7"x7"
Twin Simple Steam Launch Engine was never actually built, but
served as an example for students. Every part of the original
has been faithfully modeled, and this will be a future Gould
Studios CAD Fine Art Print release. |
